PAMEL PRD1 is a plug-in 230 V power controller designed mainly for heaters and other loads whose power can be adjusted as a percentage. The setting is shown on a clear LED display and changed with two buttons. PRD1 offers three start modes, Pmin/Pmax limits, a configurable power adjustment step and memory of the last setting after a power outage. The maximum controlled power is up to 5.5 kW.

PRD1 – set an exact power value, not a knob position

Plug-in power controller for everyday, repeatable operation. Two buttons and an LED display let you set a percentage value without guessing the potentiometer position. The controller remembers the last setting, and the start method can be adapted to the load.

Repeatable control instead of setting it “by eye”

The current average power setting is displayed as a percentage. This makes it easy to return to a proven setting and consciously compare successive stages of operation.

Clear value

The LED display shows the current setting. For example, “01” means 1% power, while “50” means 50% of the maximum power of the connected load.

Two buttons

Power is changed directly from the device panel. No additional potentiometer or approximate scale is needed.

Setting memory

After a power outage, PRD1 remembers the last power value, making it easier to resume operation with the previously selected setting.

Three ways to start

The device start can be matched to the characteristics of the load.

Start at the set power

The selected value immediately. After switching on, the controller immediately goes to the power value set by the user.

Soft start

0% → setting. Power rises smoothly from zero to the selected value within at most a few seconds.

Full-power start

100% → setting. The controller starts at full power and then drops to the set value. This mode is intended, among other things, for suitable fans and pumps that require higher starting torque.

Set the range you actually use

PRD1 lets you configure the minimum and maximum available power and the step by which the setting changes when a button is pressed.

Pmin limits the lowest available value,
Pmax limits the highest available value,
adjustment step can be matched to the application – e.g. 1%, 5% or another value,
a small step makes precise adjustment easier, while a larger one speeds up changes.

The controller is supplied ready to use. Changing configuration settings is optional.

For heaters and selected speed-controlled devices

PRD1 is intended primarily for controlling the power of heating elements. The manual also permits speed control of suitable loads for which this control method is appropriate.

Power control of resistive heaters in tanks and other heating equipment – within the parameters permitted for the specific version.

Selected pumps and fans

Full-power start can help loads that require higher starting torque. Always verify that the specific device is compatible with this control method.

Compact enclosure and cooling

PRD1 houses the controller, display and cooling components in a compact 80 × 60 × 60 mm enclosure. The actual photo shows the fan and the device output socket.

Important: PRD1 is not intended for controlling typically inductive circuits such as transformers. Before connection, check the type of load, its power and installation requirements. The permitted power must not exceed the parameters of the specific controller version.
